MODULE 5

PAGE 1

M5 - Project  1 - Introducing the Jam-Room

Jamming with the Blues using the Jam-Room

A - NOTE

By now you should be totally familiar and comfortable with all your Pentatonic patterns shown in Module 3 Project 3   and always revise

B - Introducing the Jam-Room for Jamming

The Jam-Room is for practising all you have learned in this Module Cheating the Blues

Use this for practising your Chords, Scales and developing your solo playing and Improvisation in all keys

The Jam-Room and Cheating the Blues are part of a series of modules for guitarists and other musicians, some are named below

www.musicsliderule.com

www.appsforguitar.com

www.cheatingtheblues.com

www.jam-room.com

A lot of these Modules are being added to all the time and new Videos will be added to the Jam-Room

The link for the Jam-Room can be found at the top of the page

D1 - GAIN MASTERY OF THE PENTATONICS

There are 12 CTB Blues Bop files One for every Key

You want to be able to play comfortably the minor Pentatonic and any other riffs you develop in every Key on the Guitar neck

Just play through all the Videos just practise and play around, experimenting with the Pentatonic Patterns in every Key

Do this a little every day.  Remember there are 5 basic Pentatonic Patterns and you want to be able to play in and around all of them, creating new ideas for yourself in any and every Key

(Do not rush this, take your time)

D2 - NOTE

The minor pentatonic patterns fit more easily than the major pentatonic patterns a lot of the time, also you will probably find notes not on the pentatonic that still work, good you can highlight them and practice using these other notes in all keys

D3 - MORE VIDEOS IN THE JAM-ROOM

More videos will be added to the Jam-Room but my advice is master first the basic CTB Blues Bop files in all Keys

(Again I repeat Do not rush this)

Start jamming and soloing in the Jam-Room

Chrome Browser recommended

1 - Go to Jam-Room

2 - Select from Playlist

3 - Set the Slide Rule to the Key you want and Highlight the Scale notes you want to practice

4 - Grab your Guitar hit Play on the video and start soloing

Note: - If you need help using this then you need to revise Cheating the Blues

You will need the Internet

C - HOW TO START

Jam - Room

1 - I recommend first using the CTB Blues Bop in A File as you are already familiar with playing in the key of A

2 - Set the Slide Rule to the Key A minor (Slide the insert so the number 6 is over the note of A) Then select the pattern you want by highlighting the Scale notes you want to practice

Try different patterns and experiment

3 - Grab your Guitar hit Play on the video and start soloing, jamming and experimenting

E - USE THE VIDEOS IN THE JAM-ROOM TO PRACTISE YOUR CHORDS

Very Important - Yes use the videos to practise your chords in all keys
